From what I know, it's a state-machine.

  • From cruise to climb is via possible-climb. One must remain at least 15 seconds in that state, which means that during that time you circle with at least 4 Degrees per second.
  • From climb to cruise is via possible-cruise. One must remain at least 10 seconds in that state, which means that during that time you must fly with less than 4 Degrees per second heading change.
