unable to load file ? about boundary-first-flattening HOT 7 CLOSED

Hi @soundreactor, the file has several non-manifold edges and vertices. You can read more about what that means and how to handle it here: https://www.shapeways.com/tutorials/fixing-non-manifold-models. Unfortunately, BFF does not support such models yet.

The mesh doesn't have to be closed, it can have a boundary...

I also have a simple non-manifold mesh (1/4 of a torus) exported from Rhino 6 as obj. BFF says "unable to open file" - does BFF need a specific version?

@AnnieLocke Unfortunately, there isn't any support for non-manifold meshes - there are some ambiguities when it comes to running algorithms (like flattening) on them and its unclear how to resolve them.
