Either we use expiration dates (time to live) or we could trigger deletion of outputs based on some policy. One such reasonable policy would be to delete outputs of all intermediate steps in a workflow once the workflow has completed/succeeded.

With the recent addition of a DELETE endpoint on the workflow service, we are now deleting all testing related workflows. This may be enough for now. It isn't clear if we will introduce some kind of deletion policy for non-testing workflows as well as database size approaches hardware limits.
