Can reproduce it locally:

It looks like it's a problem with using Git 1.8.x which is installed by default on CentOS 7, along with AWX's make process. It ends up creating the file dist/awx-0.0.0.tar.gz instead of a version-specific file. D'oh!

I'll make it install git from source if we're on CentOS / Red Hat 7.

So... that's weird.
This time I got:

But then looking inside the VM I found:
$ ls /opt/awx/dist
awx-1.0.3.12.tar.gz
$ cd /opt/awx && git describe --long
1.0.3-55-gb1c4c7536
So what is going on with the version numbers?!
