Hi GitHub! I'm Gary. I also go by the name ariseus online. I'm a master's student at Cornell University in Computer Science. My research interests lie at the intersection of machine learning systems, theory, and AI-driven scientific advancements, where I leverage my mathematical and engineering talents to pioneer cutting-edge solutions. I work at Cornell Relax ML Lab with Prof. Chris De Sa on efficient machine learning algorithms and systems. Our work, grounded in mathematical principles, aims to expedite large-scale, high-performance machine learning systems that are efficient, parallel, and distributed in real-world settings. Parallel to this, I collaborate on AI-driven molecule generation with talented Ph.D. students. I was working at UMass BioNLP lab on practical medical NLP projects.
I always depict myself as a combination of scientist and engineer. I studied General Computer Science and Computational and Applied Mathematics as an undergraduate. I do projects in Machine Learning, Full Stack websites, Serverless websites, Game programming, etc.
I'm a PROUD Arch Linux user but I'm not an extreme fundamentalist. Usually, I play around with all potential solutions and go for the best practice. I write compatible command line scripts. I care about writing well-structured high-performance reproducible machine learning projects. I also care about theoretical and mathematical foundations. I wanted to become a mathematician when I was a freshman.
I also do beginner-level exploitation and reverse engineering challenges. I enjoy solving CTF challenges and used to have fun with them.
I play League of Legends, play PC games, and watch anime. I really like the anime STEINS;GATE and my dream is to be a mad scientist.
