Unable to link to "self" as in the entry being edited about linkit HOT 1 OPEN

I can see now from the source code that this is somewhat deliberate - in that, when defining the element select fields, it detects if there is a source element on the field:

'sourceElementId' => ( isset($this->element->id) ? $this->element->id : null ),

If we simply skip this key/var pair, or explicitly set sourceElmeentId to null, then we are again able to select "itself". In a quick test there seems to be no issue with this, but seeing that the code is explicitly there, perhaps there's an edge case we're not aware of?
