It turns out that this is surprisingly difficult without a chrome extension, and if you're going to do that...

Plan B: provide an atom plugin which enables integrated debugging in the editor while running the application in a tab alongside your source code. (and links compiler errors to source for bonus points)

Babel prints out the source which is in error with a pointer at the correct location in the offending line - that would be an improvement.

In version 2.0 compiler errors contain the URL of the file which links through to the source in dev-tools. I have not found a way to make chrome jump to the correct line though.
