Hi Kay,

I'm afraid this is not possible to do in a FlexForm. The source you refer to does not describe how to achieve this - it describes how to create regular containers.

The technical explanation is that TCEforms wraps fields in block display elements. The inline-block (actually table-cell because a small table is used) display is only possible for field Wizards - and such wizards don't allow other TCEforms fields to be used as wizards (only a limited subsection).

The only way to go around this is to replace huge parts of TCEforms with custom rendering, possibly causing a wide range of related issues and in no way would it be compatible with 4.x branches (let me tell you, TCEforms is no laughing matter...).

So I'm sorry to reject this one. I wished it was possible - I've been dreaming of such a palette functionality since the start - but at least now, I know exactly why it is not possible to do in any reasonable way except making it a core patch (would recommend a new field type or pseudo-field like "section", but I cannot take it upon myself to create that core patch).

Cheers,
Claus
