I've solved that problem specifying a different directory to store the history.
You can add a line like this in your vimrc:

" store yankring history file in tmp
let g:yankring_history_dir = '~/.vim/tmp/'

from fisa-vim-config.

Thanks! this is nice. I'm adding it to the develop branch, probably today will do a release including this, plus some big changes :)

from fisa-vim-config.

Finally used something a little bit different, instead of the folder, specified a file name with ".", so it's hidden, and there is no need for the folder to exist.

from fisa-vim-config.

You're right, I didn't think in that because I use the ~/.vim/tmp directory for swap files.
I really prefer to keep all vim related stuff inside my .vim directory, so the yankring path setting works best for me.
If you need to use a possible inexistent directory you can use something like:

silent !mkdir -p ~/.vim/tmp > /dev/null 2>&1

from fisa-vim-config.
