Do you mean so that other npm modules can include this one and just call something like 'firebase.deploy()' or similar?

Yeah, I just edited my comment above after scanning through the source a little more, it seems like the firebase module might have the tools needed, but perhaps this module could offer more streamlined methods directly for deploying to static hosting 😀

Oh, you mean on an individual file basis for things like user-generated content? That's not currently in the scope of Firebase Hosting
