Is there a need to test HELO names as well as RHS domain names?

It shouldn't hurt, but I'm not sure.

The HELO could be used for other tests. I know of some folks that refuse mail
from
hosts if the HELO doesn't match the FQDN (even though the RFC doesn't allow for
this
type of blocking.) Blacklisting this traffic leads to false positives, but
greylisting it would probably be acceptable.

How do you plan to pass the HELO through the mappings to gross?

Actually the svn version does it already. (Oops, not documented...)

 TCP|*|*|*|*|SMTP/*|*|tcp_local|*|*|* $[grosscheck.so,grosscheck,127.0.0.1,,1111,$2,$=$8$_,$=$6$_,$=$4$

Seems to work. I think that I'll have gross treat hosts starting at MAIL FROM,
without HELO/EHLO first,
suspicious.
