Under the hood snapshot only builds an Instruments command for you. Take a look at runner.rb
The method generate_test_command will build the command, which launches Instruments.
That means, you have to check out, if there is a way via the Instruments command line to launch the widget directly.
I'm sorry, I can't help you more with this issue.

Just noticed: Nice Radar layout you used there!
You can publish that right to Apple's radar, since it's probably an Instruments issue if it doesn't work 👍
