Agreed. One of the cleanup tasks prior to resolve backgroundColor on CALayer being CGColorRef and UIView being UIColor *. My plan was to reference and document the object animated, simultaneously making properties more specific.

Licensing intricacies prevent us from releasing example code in the main Pop repo. We hope the Readme provides some initial guidance.
