Thanks for the report! This is actually (mostly) intentional. ASDisplayNode+Subclasses.h is deliberately not included in the framework header, since those methods shouldn't be available unless you're subclassing a node. The guide does have a manual import statement in the custom nodes section, but, as you've noticed, that's incompatible with bridging headers.

Including the subclassing header in your bridging header will work. I'm not sure offhand if there's a way to preserve the "hey, this is an internal header, don't use it everywhere" behaviour with Swift — it's possible there isn't yet — but either way the documentation needs to be updated.
