Just to add to this. The defaults should look something like this:
They currently look like this however (actually this is after some playing around with it, but I'm not sure it's even possible to get to the image above with this package right now):
Things that need to be worked out are:
1 - changing the text color (the default should be a light gray)
2 - being able to change the selected text color
3 - possibly the spacing
