Hmm, great question. I think it makes sense to me.
There might be a couple others like rack mini profiler that would be good candidates as well.
Although this does bring up a good question where should the line be drawn on adding dependencies? At least these are development-only gems so they won't introduce much complexity. Just something to think about long term.

I'm also perfectly fine with not adding it - it's crazy easy to add on your own.
