Mac's built in terminal has a way of binding Option to Meta, does iTerm2 not support this? Were you able to successfully rebind these shortcuts to ones you prefer?

I'm a little wary of choosing different bindings because these align well with our other extensions (Option + [ cycles completions on VSCode and JetBrains IDEs).

I also had problems with this default mapping to "meta" key.
I use Ubuntu and Vim. I think I tried all keys and nothing worked as "meta" key. I have no idea which key is actually "meta".

@klew It should be the Alt key on Ubuntu. Sometimes the Alt key press can be intercepted by the terminal itself and not get sent to Vim. There should be workarounds to this, or you can rebind these shortcuts.

@fortenforge Alt key wasn't working for me. However I tried to remove whole VIM config and plugins and it started to work, so there is something in my config, that affects this key binding.
Thanks for clarification!

OK my inclination is to leave the key bindings as is for consistency with our other extensions. It also matches the keybindings copilot uses for vim/nvim. Please feel free to reopen this issue if you have issues rebinding the defaults or in invoking the Meta key in your environment.
