[I'm no longer with Evernote but for what it's worth...] Greg: The -findNotesWithSearch:.. method was designed to only ever return active notes. Any possibility you're seeing a race condition where notes are being trashed after the response from the service but before you process those results? If for some reason -find... is returning both active and inactive notes, then the service is sending back incorrect stuff; in that case, you should report on the dev forums.

Thanks for the info...race condition not likely, but it feels like possible caching issue server side. I'll do some more testing. I was also getting success results uploading a note that not only had been trashed, but the trash had been emptied...so hopeful I was just hitting a rough patch with the server side this morning.
