What code did you write? saying you're "using optimistic concurrency" is an ambiguous statement.
I suspect SELECT is not broken in this instance - everyone "uses optimistic concurrency"; the semantics are as described in the docs you reference
You might find the discussion and walkthrough I provide in this feature idea helps you think about the overall semantic and/or might help you to handle the conflicts you encounter: https://github.com/EventStore/EventStore/issues/1652
from eventstore-client-dotnet.
I'm closing that because of the inactivity. I'm willing to reopen it if that still occurs. To diagnose it better, we'd need more information, e.g.:
- sample append event code,
- information how you're providing version (Any, specific one, etc.),
- information if you're setting the same event id or not,
- etc.
P.S. ESDB versions 4 and 5 are out of support, and the TCP client is considered legacy. We recommend migrating to the latest versions and gRPC client.
