I got access to the crawler app. It has a scrape config, that currently skips just about all of the docs, because of the way docusaurus works with redirects.

A sample crawler config file that scrapes docusaurus docs would be very welcome. That might already solve it on its own. Ideally the scrape config doesn’t need to know anything about the structure of the docs and will discover that as it goes.

Better but not fixed. The index now gets created and the search preview in the Algolia interface works. But the actual search on the website remains broken

After banging my head against this in July and then just going away in frustration, this now works. I made no particular changes I'm aware of, other than a minor Docusaurus upgrade. Good to know that the config itself was right. Closing.
