"+" Asset details page

@MikeMillerGIS, @ChrisBuscaglia

Please confirm if we got this correct.

  • Remove the big blue/gray button
  • Display the action label as text followed by a configurable icon
  • User can configure the icon to use for primary action in configuration UI
    • We may have to fix the allowable height/width for this primary action icon
    • should we allow only icons of a certain size that can fit in the row? OR,
    • resize larger ones to fit in the row
  • User clicks the primary icon (list & details page) and the icon changes to green check
    • The action label does not change and is non-clickable
  • The green check icon is not configurable through the configuration UI

The details page may look a bit odd with one primary action label with icon and the others as blue/gray buttons below that.

@MikeMillerGIS any thoughts on this? We didn't see this on the config. UI today for the call and needs to be addressed.

What if we just used a slider

CTLocalGovTeam avatar CTLocalGovTeam commented on June 3, 2024

@ChrisBuscaglia,
This is not included in configuration UI as we do not have full clarity on this yet.
@MikeMillerGIS,
The slider button has two modes, i.e., on/off. Users may interpret this as clean/unclean. Only one action is supported in the widget, i.e., 'Clean'. Users may think that by turning it off would update the status to 'Unclean' or the opposite of clean.
Please let us know how to proceed on this.

@CTLocalGovTeam Agreed, since we have not implemented a "undo" on this screen - the toggles could be misleading.

@MikeMillerGIS What about the UX that includes a "done" or "update" at the bottom of the panel UI that allows you to update all based on your updates in the toggles? That would satisfy the NOLA requirement to "undo" a mistake made on this panel.

Would address issue #10

Not real big fan of a "save" button in a app like this because it is easy to not click. What if we just let the user specify two image per action, image to show when done and image to show to trigger action

@CTLocalGovTeam

•Remove the big blue/gray button - YES
•Display the action label as text followed by a configurable icon - YES
•User can configure the icon to use for primary action in configuration UI ◦We may have to fix the allowable height/width for this primary action icon YES
◦should we allow only icons of a certain size that can fit in the row? OR,
◦resize larger ones to fit in the row Recommend a size and provide best-practice symbols in the configuration files that we supply as defaults for the config. panel.

•User clicks the primary icon (list & details page) and the icon changes to green check ◦The action label does not change and is non-clickable YES, or whatever symbols the user chooses in the config.

•The green check icon is not configurable through the configuration UI NO, let the user config. all symbols

The details page may look a bit odd with one primary action label with icon and the others as blue/gray buttons below that.
I tend to agree, but will cross that road when the above is implemented

@ChrisBuscaglia, @MikeMillerGIS

We see two options, please see mockups below

Option 1 - Use fixed pre-action and post-action icons for all actions
No changes required in configuration.

Option 2 - Use configurable icons for pre-action and post-action for all actions
User willl have to configure two icons for each action.

I prefer option 1

MikeMillerGIS avatar MikeMillerGIS commented on June 3, 2024

We discussed today and all agree on option 1. We would also like to expose both icons in the config and let the use browse to a local image and upload it. The resulting image would be stored in the app as base64.
