For context in case anyone stumbles upon this issue. The mutate()
issue has been fixed in #54.
If you still encounter issues after update linelist (pak::pak("epiverse-trace/linelist")
), please restart your R session and open a new issue with a reproducible example if the error still persists then.

Hi Carmen, thanks for the report! I agree compatibility with dplyr should be a priority for linelist.
I can finish the vignette to improve the documentation on this topic. Note however that this will only work for linelist development version for now. You can install the development version with:
pak::pak("epiverse-trace/linelist")
Please give the development version a try and let me know if you are still encountering unexpected behaviour with dplyr 🙏

Hi Hugo, thanks for your prompt response, I tried with the development version and the issue persists with the mutate()
function, which adds a new column but also deletes rows, and I've noticed what it does is keep as many rows as columns there are on the df, e.g., if the original df has 12 columns and 500 rows, the new mutated df will have 13 columns and 13 rows.
The other dplyr
functions seem to be fine, including filter()
, which was also behaving weirdly before and doing the same thing of keeping the number of rows equivalent to the no. of columns.
I think that mutate()
is quite a useful function that many people use, so it would be ideal if this could be addressed, otherwise it'd be useful to let users know beforehand.
Many thanks!
