Logging shouldn't actually change anything so could maybe just be bad luck, but there could well be some weird bug in dsiwifi I suppose

I definitely saw some oddness (hangs) but does work for me without enabling logging.
DSI LL (XL) WPA2.
I can confirm WEP with key does NOT work for me with the same router.
