So diving in the issue here is that Enzyme.jl doesn't pass to Enzyme proper the hidden closure struct of the function being diffferentiated. For example consider the following:

using Enzyme
struct Foo
   x::Float64
end
function (f::Foo)(x::Float64)
   return f.x + x
end
function method(f, x)
    return f(x)
end
# Obviously fine
@show method(Foo(1.0), 2.0)
# Works
@show Enzyme.autodiff(method, Foo(1.0), Active(2.0))
# Function closure convention not handled
@show Enzyme.autodiffe(Foo(1.0), Active(2.0))

@vchuravy Is there a good way within GPUCompiler.jl to detect if the function is a closure to ensure we pass the correct calling convention the Enzyme proper?

from enzyme.jl.
