I got the same problem, and solved it by installing [email protected]

According to the readme of golang/protobuf:

If you need a particular version of protoc-gen-go (e.g., to match your proto package version), one option is

GIT_TAG="v1.2.0" # change as needed
go get -d -u github.com/golang/protobuf/protoc-gen-go
git -C "$(go env GOPATH)"/src/github.com/golang/protobuf checkout $GIT_TAG
go install github.com/golang/protobuf/protoc-gen-go

Yes, this did the trick! Just for note, It has to be executed after "make bootstrap" of ratelimit and my git command has no -C flag, so one can use --git-dir flag, or before the command switch to the needed directory and don't use this flag and the path in the command. Thank you very much!

It needs to be added to the install manual or the versions mismatch to be fixed somehow.
