Any movement on this? 3.7 was released a month ago and 3.7.3 arrived today.

@xordoquy, seriously? See #5439.

The serverā€“app on Heroku, which I can't deploy to in any case, is supposed to be DRF's public showcase of the browseable API and auto-documentation related to Core API. Quite simply, that's something the core maintainers ought to keep up with on a regular basis.

Nice entitlement @michaelsbradleyjr

A PR would help with the ā€œUpgradeā€ part. Obviously you canā€™t do the deploy.

Clearly it would be nice if this project were always spot up to date but the bottom line is itā€™s very low priority compared to all the other tasks we have on.

Thatā€™s just the reality.

No sense of entitlement on my part, I was just surprised it would be expected (he said: "looking forward") that keeping a counterpart to the tutorialsā€“docs up to date would would be something users of the framework would take on. DRF is great, I'm happily using it, will recommend it to others, and will certainly contribute PRs if/when I gain enough competence in the framework to fix bugs or what have you. A recent job requirement presented with me the opportunity to learn Python, Django, and DRF all at once (no previous experience with any of it) over the last couple of months, and DRF has certainly been pleasant to work with. But the demo app on heroku, linked from DRF's home page in a couple of places, uses a release that's nearly 3 years old. The interactive documentation feature that landed in 3.6 is really cool, and I just think it would be important for the maintainers to keep the demo up-to-date. Animated GIFs are great, but a live demo is better.

@michaelsbradleyjr That's all great. Nothing we don't agree with in theory. Reality is limited maintenance time vs unlimited demands. Priorities. (Software.)

A PR ensuring this repo was up to date would enable a re-deployment here. (That's the easy bit.)

I'm up for owning this. I can get this up to date with all the new shiny things. I can also help setup Heroku for auto deploying master, maybe even review apps.

That sounds great @jpadilla!

It would be great to have an always updated app in play. (We might have caught the issue with 3.7.2 for a start šŸ˜ƒ)

If you want to work your magic we can ping @tomchristie to get you the deploy credentials.
