Dear Mark,
It is not a problem that the melting and boiling point depend on other properties, since EMMO consider a physical quantity as a sign produced by a measurement process. But we have limited the scope of the ISQ module in EMMO core to the ISO/IEC 80000 standard. The module is still not complete in the sense that it covers the full ISO/IEC 80000, but I don't find melting and boiling point in ISO/IEC 80000.

My suggestion would be to create an EMMO-based domain ontology that extend the ISQ module with additional thermodynamic physical quantities. @emanueleghedini, @jsimonclark, any thoughts from your side?

By the way, I see that melting point is defined in defined in ISO 23020, paragraph 3.1.13.

Thanks, Jesper,
for the fast reply. I agree that EMMO should limit the scope to be lean.
If melting points and boiling points are not too frequently used, a thermodynamic domain ontology would be a good idea.
Let's see, what @emanueleghedini and @jsimonclark reply.
