we'd see more projects using it if it was in the form of a dynamic library people could use in their own engines, currently it's "look how cool h3r2tic is, isn't he cool?" and everyone is like "yea, he's really cool... but we're not." and they continue to use their own engines with worse than kajiya graphics because they're not as cool as h3r2tic and we have only one h3r2tic and he's busy with other stuff meanwhile in a few years embark peeps be like what's kajiya and nuke it

if only we used some type of source control system that stores everything in an immutable append-only ledger that could be downloaded locally and shared, forked, or merged free at will. then we would be able to preserve this project for long after Embark and GitHub ceases to exist. someone should invent such a thing!
