The Releases feature looks great to me, and I'm willing to move away from S3, but where can I find API documentations for the Releases feature? I searched the developer.github.com but got nothing.

Unfortunately there isn't a public API yet, it is undocumented and supports everything but actually uploading the assets.

So I was thinking for the first interim, you could manually create the release using the site, but we could switch the atom update-atom-shell to use the releases API to pull it down.

I know it kind of sucks for now to manually upload but hopefully the asset upload API comes out soon.

@kevinsawicki What do you think about waiting to do this until we can upload assets via the Releases API?

@probablycorey When will that be?

Rick said "kinda stuck waiting on some ops help to deploy it. probablycorey:
ill ping you as soon as something is up. this will be a new type of service
for us, so it may take a little bit to work out the kinks"

So it's vague when we can expect it.

Yeah, so I'm leaning towards manually uploading atom-shell for now since Atom can accommodate the reading of releases and downloading of assets immediately since those APIs are available I believe.

I'm now starting to manually upload distribution file to the Releases, I think I can bear with it since releases are not frequent.
