I ran some more tests in cloud and couldn't reproduce the error. I'm going to close the issue since it appears to be fixed, but please don't hesitate to open a new issue if there are any further problems. Thanks!

There is a similar issue with opensearch being blocked

Elasticsearch::UnsupportedProductError (The client noticed that the server is not Elasticsearch and we do not support this unknown product.):

Is this intentional?

Hi @giovannelli,
Thanks for reporting this. I tried reproducing the error running version 8.13.0 of the client and 8.13.1 of Elasticsearch:

> Elasticsearch::Client::VERSION
=> "8.13.0"
> client.info['version']['number']
=> "8.13.1"

But I don't get the warning. How are you deploying Elasticsearch?

@shleeable the Elasticsearch clients go through rigorous testing and validation against the official Elasticsearch distribution coming from Elastic. Any other products are not supported.

Hi @picandocodigo,
I'm using Elastic Cloud. I ran some tests yesterday, and it seems to be connecting now. Could it have been an issue with Elastic Cloud's response earlier?

Hi @giovannelli, it could be that there was a temporary issue earlier. The client should work flawlessly with Elastic Cloud, so maybe there was a problem in the network or something else. I'll run some more tests just to make sure. I'm glad it's fixed now 👍
