Any news if this is going to make it into the build? I'm experiencing the same issue...

I faced the same issue with "file:///" and also created a PR for the fixing #91

I originally intended for this to have no support for local images, since they would be fast enough already, but it seems like people just want a general Image replacement.
After fixing all these issues with some of them redirecting to Image I'm going to work on loading all images, including local images without falling back to Image.
