Hi,
Yes, I don't think that human and cattle are similar enough to get reliable results with orthologs.
Note that the xCell pipeline is a bit more complicated than just a signature matrix.

We have a similar question.
Do you expect that your method produces reliable results when it is applied on data from more closely related species (e.g. mice and other (supra)primates) after mapping the genes to the human orthologs?
We've obtained a few interesting results and are wondering whether they can be trusted.
