Hi @pjratl any protected single cell LiPo (3.7V) will work. As to wiring, the ESP32 TouchDown uses a JST-PH (2.0mm pitch) connector. The + and - are marked on the board, so make sure that matches you battery. Make sure you don't plug in the battery with a reversed polarity! If you battery comes with the wrong polarity, you can swap the pins on the battery connector by pulling the pins out and putting them back in the header in the correct orientation.

As to capacity, I recommend getting at least 2000mAh. This will give you about 10 hours of continues use. More off course if you use the sleep function.

I just use this, and works wonderfully: https://es.aliexpress.com/item/33006531884.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.101.5951194dbTaRWp&gatewayAdapt=glo2esp

What size is the cutout in the battery back? It would be helpful to mention this in the README.

At around 3.55V/3.6V (depending on V1.0 or V1.1 of the ESP32 TouchDown) the voltage regulator stops regulating down to 3.3V. There will still be output an output voltage on the LDO but it will be unregulated. This also depends on the current draw. With a lower current draw the dropout of the regulator is lower.

The ESP32 will operate (according to the datasheet) with a minimum of 3.0V. To be on the safe side, I recommend a minimum battery voltage of 3.6V that will make sure the ESP32 TouchDown works according to what is expected.

No, I was asking what the physical size of the battery cutout is.

Ah... I confused cutout with cutoff :)

It is 95 x 43 mm.

I will edit the README.md to reflect the size of the battery compartment on the battery case, and will add some information that will inform people that any single cell LiPo with a protection circuit will work. But it is very important to check that the polarity of the battery connector matches that of the connector on the board!
