HTML5 elements fail to match IE<9 when they are not the selector subject about nwmatcher HOT 4 CLOSED

Thank you Keith very good finding, I confirm this bug exist in IE < 9 and with HTML5 elements.

Your suggestion is pointing to the correct piece of code.

I am working on it but I have to consider this fact:

document.querySelectorAll('DIV');

will return zero elements in an XML document having "[div]xxx[/div]" (lowercase) in source, but:

document.querySelectorAll('DIV');

will return one or more elements in an HTML document having "[div]xxx[/div]" (lowercase) in source.

I would prefer NWMatcher maintaining that if possible at all. Suggestions much welcome.

In Slick.js we do our suite of feature tests every time you use it on a new document. I do remember this issue, but I can't recall how we fixed it. Iirc, the fix was only applicable in HTML documents.

We should have a fix for this in the SlickSpec already.
