that sounds great!
I already started to create a new container https://github.com/DominicBoettger/docker-mariadb-galera and wanted to add the database as a linked container to be able to update the aegir container independent from the database service. I did not have any time yet to connect them and test it....

The repository you forked is doing well in my environment.

I've git it pretty much working ok for my dev environment.

What would be the best way to work together? Shall I create a new branch 7.x-3.x. The current master could live on as 6.x-1.x

When ready, we could adapt this image to work with the database it a linked container.

I created a branch called 6.x-2.0.
