If you _need_ an ssh tunnel, you're going to need to use docker inspect on the mysql container. Otherwise, use the mysql:expose command.
Regarding confining it to a linked app, you can link it to as many applications as you want, we just currently do not create new "databases" within the service container because... we don't. No code written to handle that yet.
