I wrote those using the entity manager for a reason. I'm not sure what that reason was but it was a good one at the time. The ObjectManager just doesn't have all the methods available that the EntityManager does.

@spiffyjr when you wrote that stuff, most of the common API that was merged lately wasn't available (mainly stuff about class metadata) :)

New spiffy stuff is in doctrineModule isn't it ? So everything has been moved to doctrine module now.
