can this be disabled and possibly initiated later on with the camera module.
Why would that be necessary? The init only creates a camera. This has to be done somewhere, sometimes certain modules manipulate the camera before a CameraModule is called.
Also to set horizon to dark do I just need to include under global the variable "horizon_color": [0.0, 0.0, 0.0]?
When you talk about the horizon do you mean the background, if so you can do this:
