Hi. Setting STATIC_ROOT isn't necessary as it's already set in /opt/taiga-back/settings/local.py. Also, collectstatic is being run as part of run-server command. No, from the nature of these files, it shouldn't be run in Dockerfile and you just need to restart your container if the static files need to be recollected. I had a look at the local.py you referenced and found the solution to my issue

I added

MEDIA_URL = "media/"
STATIC_URL = "/static/"

to my settings.py

local.py file has absolute path http://localhost:8080/static/ hardcoded

If you take a look at /etc/opt/taiga-back/settings.py, there's actually a comment explaining why these should be absolute URLs.
