Do you have any updates on this issue so far?
I submitted the original question from Stackoverflow link above.
For some additional background - many companies use SauceLabs' shared tunnels to provide a secure connection from SauceLabs VM Farms to their infrastructure behind a firewall.
Shared Tunnels are a preferred way of connecting, instead of individual tunnels, because they provide higher bandwidth and concurrency.

There is an open pull request (that has been approved) in the saucelabs-connector library that addresses this issue:
Do you have any influence there to get this pull request added? Looks like it was approved 7 months ago, but not integrated.
