invoke is not part of your standard install, especially not if you use virtual environment, you still need to install it. Virtual Env is like a contained zone with your base python install and nothing else.

So? Why can't I use my virtual environment if I'm setting a path to invoke?

What is the porblem you are having? Are you not able to to use virtual env if you use invoke? or you cant use invoke if you have a virtual env? Either way those are out of the scope of this extension.

I have invoke installed on my virtual environment, I want to use the invoke from my venv. What's the point of the extension if I can't use a venv?

Extacly, this extension assumes you can. The issue is with pyinvoke, not with vscode-invoke
