The code is ok:

        preset->name         = readString(20);

        index2               = readWord();

        preset->genre        = readDword();
        preset->morphology   = readDword();

We can read here that the variable "index2" contains the value of wPresetBagNdx: there is no extra words.

My fault, I don't know how I misread that. I've been working on my own parser as a JUCE module and have been struggling with passing all of the parsed generator/modulator data into their respective presets/instruments, and have been using your app to check my results.
