Sorry about the issues you are having.
The salt returned from generateSalt is the number of iterations, in hexadecimal notation, + "." + the base64 encoded salt.
The return value is documented, but I'll make note of it in the README.
If this is not the issue you are referring to please let me know and I'll look into it further.
The KEY_SIZE (now named KEY_LENGTH) fix landed in npm about an hour ago in version 0.1.0 (I added a new verify
method). :-)
