Gradle is useful for more complex builds. Maven is a good choice for this
one still. Gradle tooling for IDEs is not as mature as maven tooling and
can be frustratingly slow. I do like the concept a lot though. You see any
advantages for rtree?

I cannot think of anything other than it's a lot more readable and declarative.
Reading long xml files can be a bit confusing.
We're switching to gradle at our office(from ant) and I noticed a lot of projects (mostly open-source) are migrating to it as well.
So I was just wondering about rtree. Though it seems maven satisfies all needs too :)
