This is nice. I'm pretty sure it can be implemented, since it's based on a thesis. But I think Mr. @davidmchapman stopped working on this, he's just gone.

My bad for never responding to this. My feeling is that the base EB-AFIT algorithm should be left as-is. I would love to see various enhancements like the ones proposed in this issue, but they should probably be implemented as their own, independent algorithms. They could be named as variations of EB-AFIT if they share substantial code or methodology as the base algorithm. The packing service can already support multiple algorithms, they just need to implement the interface. I will probably need to leave it up to others to write the variations they would like to see because my free time is pretty constrained lately. If anyone wants to contribute a new variation, or an entirely new algorithm, please submit a pull request. Thanks!!

@davidchapman I agree with you, the algorithm should stay faithful to the thesis. A new algorithm can be implemented to extend the funcionality.

Is it possible to have a tooltip on the items in the container? No matter what I try, I cant seem to be able to hover on the correct item in the wireframe (container)

@Jhutchings5, the web-based demo is just a quickly thrown together application to demonstrate that the packing library packs as intended. I don't have plans to augment its functionality since it is just a demo.
