Interesting - what site/page are you seeing the error on? I've just tried it in Chrome 15 production and it works just fine for me on the Google home page.

Thanks,
Allan

OK, well yesterday I had jumped back over to the Stable channel of Chrome and was on version 15.0.874.120 so I tried again and the bookmarklet stopped giving an error (but didn't look like it was working - it just dulled the screen brightness as if it was about to load something but never did), but I then noticed version 2 of it and tried that and that one worked fine?

v2 of Visual Event works okay in Chrome for you then? That's good - that's the code that this repo now holds. Visual Event 1 wasn't open source and is now fully replaced by Visual Event 2.
