phpcheck's Issues

Parallel execution

Multiple independent threads with their own realtime updating progress bars would be super-cool.

However checks run so fast it might not be worth putting in too much effort.

Consider using PHPUnit as the runner

I started with this idea in mind, and it didn't turn out well. PHPUnit is restricted in many ways by a long legacy and a specific mode of execution (1 test, 1 execution).

It might be possible to hook this up to a dataProvider in PHPUnit. /shrug

Suites

Look to PHPUnit for inspiration on the interpretation of the different entities.

xUnit/jUnit data describes the following elements:

  • testsuite
  • testcase

The testcase is the smallest element and would equate to a test method, and testsuite would equate to a test class.

So where does PHPUnit's top-level TestSuite fit in?
