Hello richo,

thank you very much for creating an ArchLinux package for my software!

I want everyone to be allowed to use the source code under GNU GPL v3 (or a newer version, once one comes out).

Can you point me to the right direction on how to "officially" specify this?
So far I've added a debian/copyright file specifying GPL-v3+, but I'm aware that's probably not relevant for Arch or other distros.

Danny

Hi,
gpl is nice, cool. I think, https://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html gives you a hint how to use it.

Note about the Change "down" to GPL-v2+:
In the process of adding copyright notices to all the files, I checked out all the other licenses from the Debian packages I listed as build-depends.
It turns out that (at least at the version debian packages) libpoppler.so.X from the libpoppler-qt4 package is licensed as "GPL-v2 only" (instead of "GPL-v2 or later", which I thought before).
So to be safe, I changed to GPL-v2+ even though its not the current version.
If I understand it correctly, that means that as soon as libpoppler switches to v2+ or even v3, my project is usable under v3.
Until then we have to work on the common subset of v2 and v3, but I'm pretty confident "packaging and using the software" is in this subset : )

I hope it's all right now, if not just re-open this ticket please.

Thank you,
Danny
