How to modify combobox to support items not in list about bootstrap-combobox HOT 11 CLOSED

Sorry for the delay on an answer. There is not a good way currently. I'm planning on bringing back a forceMatch option that used to exist and switching how the data is saved to support this. Look for version 1.1 in the not so distant future that will allow this.

It did not. It was the only requested feature that got pushed. That said, the setup for it is there now, it just needs to be implemented. I'll re-open this issue until it gets added.

I'm surprised this isn't in by default. The very definition of a combobox is something that allows an item that is not in the list. Is there any way to get this to work?

Sure, write it(with tests) and send a pull request. ;-) The basic structure of the library has been changed to be able to support it. It's not been pressing for me because it's not part of my use case. I wrote the library here to have a component that gives typing support/autocomplete for select boxes. I will get to it eventually if someone does not beat me too it though.
