Intermittent connection issues with discord service (on their end) would cause an interruption to the bot's connection. The bot is designed to resume gracefully if restarted -- but not to reconnect when those errors occur. You can either run the bot as an upstart process (or something similar) or in a shell script / while loop to keep it up when those errors occur.
